Urbanization, pollution, and unsustainable resource use have long been the cause of a steady decline in habitats and the irreversible loss of many species. For this reason, we not only want to create the most sustainable products possible, but also give something back to nature.
Therefore, we implement targeted measures in our quarry and on surrounding properties to preserve valuable habitats. Warming stones, protective overhangs, crevices, and permanently damp pools, along with severely restricted human access—these are the characteristics that make a quarry a perfect habitat for animal and plant species. For example, disused areas are deliberately allowed to become wild to provide safe havens and breeding grounds, and fields and meadows are converted into orchards—an increasingly rare habitat.
Quality
Quality management and environmental protection are integral parts of our product and corporate culture. Our products have been tested by the Institute for Quality Management and Environmental Hygiene (IQUH) in accordance with:
- DIN EN ISO 9000/14000
- DIN EN 15251
- REACH 1907/2006
- for raw materials and complete ingredient disclosure.
Based on the available data, the respective QUH factor (quality, environmental, and human compatibility factor) was determined using test parameters:
- for the transparency and origin of raw materials,
- emission assessment, and
- hazard classification.
